“Everything was perfect. Brooke turned to me yesterday and said, ‘Nev was the perfect celebrant for us,’ we cannot fault them!! The ceremony was so personal. It was still sentimental / mushy because that’s what weddings are, but no cliches. Everything was us to a tee. Also Nevo was so supportive of me not wanting to traditionally walk down the aisle or do the ‘groom thing’ either. Exactly why we chose them, because we didn’t want to feel pressured by traditions / norms.”

It feels like a really big deal to invite someone into that role, especially as a pretty private couple, and so we were so glad to find Nevo. They really understood what mattered to us and what stood behind our reasons to get married, as a queer couple seeking an elopement. We were surprised and delighted with how well they captured our values in the ceremony. It was important to us to have elements in our ceremony that represented what we were passionate about - each other, marriage equality, a beautiful acknowledgement of country, and a few Jewish traditions that were meaningful to us and our refugee background.
